There are a number of programs which have been promoted somewhat unsuccessfully since around 2007.  These programs have been touted as providing hope to home owners for new leases on life for mortgagees choking with payments that they are making but which are very heavy burdens.  The HARP program provides relief to home owners who have faithfully and timely paid their mortgages and who possibly have equity in their homes.  For this select group, the HARP Program has some possibilities.  Check out the video on this page for a simple explanation.
